Everyone’s Mother

One of the most important figures of al-Muhajireen in the 1940s was the midwife Umm Salah. She was so infamous that she bore the title “everyone’s mother.”  In those times, when hospitals were limited, midwives took on the roles of nurse, obstetrician, and private care doctor all in one.  Get to know Umm Salah through the stories of the neighbourhood's residents.
