Before The Schools

In older times, children used to start their education at an early age in the Kuttab[1] schools.  In these spaces their learning revolved around reading, and memorizing the holy Quran. Today the Kuttab schools have almost disappeared, replaced by the modern schools that we now know.  Al-Muhajireen neighbourhood residents, Omran Khamash and Mansour al-Mughribi, recount the days when education was different.
